Celebrating Donray........

I remember the first time I held you in my arms. You cooed softly as I nuzzled your cheek and kiss your sweet face, marveling at the joy you brought to the whole family. Soon after I named you “Bopanee”, because you were always smiling and so full of life. I remember walking with you as a toddler, hand in hand, barefoot in the front of Lita’s house, how precious to watch your glorious bouncing blonde curls. How I love spending time with you, you would always bring out the child in me! I just love listening to both of us roar with laughter while we watched your favorite shows, made silly faces at each other, balance you on my feet as an airplane, or told each other corny jokes. You were always so good at bounding out of the corners at just the right time to scare me! I cherished all our hours of listening to music on the radio when either of us couldn’t sleep. How we love talking for hours about the simplest things.

Then you grew up and became a musical composer and an artist with incredible talents. I had the complete joy of hearing some of the most beautiful music compositions, poems and artwork. Sketches by penciled by hand for hours of some of the most important people of my life. Sweet bliss! I was so very proud of youand I loved hearing you sing, what a voice! So warm, low and melodic and in Spanish too! I remember us looking up at the stars over our town when you would visit and we would tell each other our dreams of the future it was wonderful
seeing you fall deeply in love with God and proclaim the gospel.

Now you roam through my mind during sunsets, long walks or quiet times and I rejoice at how precious it is to love someone like you. I am thankful Lita didn't have to see this day, she always loved and thought of you often. You have touched many lives and brought others to Christ with your texted Saturday Bible verses and long calls at night about God, life, family, the world and Cali Cat. I have great difficulty accepting you're gone, I try not to reason through it. I am thankful for your Facebook post that reads, "Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding." I miss your deep laughter, silly sense of humor and watching your sweet face open up in a radiant smile.

Sleep deeply my sweet Bopanee, I will see you soon.

With all my love,

Titi Ivy.
