Obituary:

Velouse Lalime, 58, was born Velouse Chavré on January 13, 1968 in Lascahobas, Haiti to Elena and Jeanty Chavré. She graduated St. Gabriel High school in 1988. Afterwards, she married her husband, Bernier Lalime, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Lascahobas in April 26, 1990, and was blessed with 2 daughters. They immigrated to the United States in April 30, 1993, where they continued to grow their family with 3 sons.

Upon entering the States, Velouse, being the hard worker that she was, worked as a seamstress, housekeeper, and in various factories, until she picked up English, went through

technical school, and became a CNA in 2004. She worked as a CNA for 22 years. All the while, she remained active in her church community for several years singing in the choir. She loved to cook, listen to music, shop, go on walks, and watch scenic documentaries, Haitian, and African movies.

She passed away on July 16, 2026 at Tampa General Hospital after 5 months of battling pancreatic cancer. She is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Bernier Lalime, Veronica Lalime (daughter), Noela Lalime (daughter), Lott-Kerby Lalime (son), Jove B Lalime (son), Malachi Lalime (son), Genesis N Lalime (granddaughter), Naomi Mortume (granddaughter), Saintilus Chavré (brother), Pierre Chavré (brother), Marcélus Chavré (brother), Anna Cenatus (sister), Solange Laroche (sister), Lucner Chavré (brother), Jean Wisler Chavré (brother), and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Above all, we remember her sweetness, gentleness, and selflessness towards those she encountered.
