In Loving Memory of Roy Henriquez Jr.
June 19, 1998 – August 3, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and overwhelming love that we announce the passing of Roy Henriquez Jr., who left this world far too soon on August 3, 2025, at the age of 27. Roy was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him a son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend whose laughter and love left an unforgettable mark on our hearts.
Roy was the star of our family our comedian, our cheerleader, our heartbeat. His laugh was truly infectious; when Roy laughed, the whole room lit up with joy. He had a way of pulling people in with his warmth, his wit, and his ability to make anyone feel seen and loved. He carried a heart that loved deeply and unconditionally, especially when it came to his family. He cherished every moment spent with his niece Abriella and nephews Moses and Conway the bond they shared was full of light, love, and laughter.
Roy had a deep passion for boxing. He spent countless hours training at the gym, pushing himself with discipline and determination. The gym was his second home, and many of his closest friendships were formed within those walls. Whether he was sparring, coaching, or just hanging out with his gym family, Roy brought the same energy, heart, and humor that made him so beloved everywhere he went.
After surviving a traumatic accident, Roy leaned into his faith more than ever before. He accepted God as his Savior and built a strong relationship with Jesus Christ, finding peace, strength, and purpose in his walk with the Lord.
Roy is survived by his devoted mother, Michele Cordova; his father and stepmother, Roy and Nancy Henriquez; his loving brothers, Andrew and Joel Rodriguez; his top homies, Polo and Kalvin; and his boxing brother, Malcolm. He also leaves behind his cherished grandmother, Maria Cordova, who held a special place in his heart.
Roy was surrounded by a large and loving family, including his maternal aunts, Rosemary Shavers, Diana Cordova, and Monica Acevedo; his uncle, Alberto Cordova; his paternal uncles, Manny Lucca, Johnny and Hector Henriquez; his aunt, Lena Henriquez, and Titi Melissa along with many others who stood by him with care and devotion. He was deeply loved by countless great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
To know Roy was to love him. His spirit will live on in the stories we tell, the joy we share, and the love that continues to bind us together. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Roy is now at peace whole, healed, and wrapped in eternal grace.
