Marjorie Jeanne Beavon ()

Date of birth: Jan 19, 2010
Date of death: Jan 20, 2009

Marjorie Jeanne Van Beavon was the daughter of Thelma and Walter Van and was born on October 24, 1929  in New Castle, Pa.  She graduated from Oberlin Conservatory, met and married Alfred Beavon also of New Castle. They were members of First Christian Church and spent their preretirement years in both Cherry Hill, NJ and New Castle where she was an organist at First Baptist church, owned the Joyce Shoppe Womens clothing store and was a realtor with Castle Realty. They relocated to Sarasota, Florida where their oldest daughter Joyce and  granddaughter Tiffany resided. Marjorie continued her zest for music through affiliation as a teacher at the Sarasota Music Center and continued her service to God at St. Wilfreds Episcopal Church. After the death of her beloved Al in 2001 she relocated to Tampa to be close to her youngest daughter Janice with them both eventually relocating to Apollo Beach, Florida. Unbelievably she drove to Tampa at age 90 as the faithful organist at Trinity church and considered the choir and members there her church family.  Marjorie was ‘special’ a word that is used to describe something one of a kind, like a hug or a sunset or a person who spreads love with a smile or kind gesture. ‘Special’ describes people who act from the heart and keep in mind the hearts of others. ‘Special’ applies to something that is admired and precious and that can never be replaced. She set an example for everyone through the way she lived her life being genuinely kind and with her priorities firmly intact. Marjorie  was the matriarch of the Beavon family loving and listening fully to each and every person she encountered.  Her smile was radiant and she would light up the darkest moments with her keen sense of humor. She was youthful in spirit and it was the simplest things that made her happy - joining her for lunch - hanging a new clock - bringing a packet of graham crackers you would think she won the lottery. She was eternally grateful for each moment or small gesture. She has saved every card that she ever received and has them meticulously filed by category and has notes made on each meticulously printed and filed in binders unmeasurable email communication with handwritten comments like - must read so insightful, funny or check further on this so being extremely organized is an understatement. She was the busiest person in the family yet was never too busy to take your call. The  mention of her only son, David made her light up and her brown eyes sparkle.  Their love for each other was was undeniable.  She made each child feel they were the favorite as they really were.  One of her cards had this message: "You are an inspiration to all of us at the salon". Although we never talked just by you being you, you have taught me that no matter what you get up, get dressed and get beautiful. Thank you for the wonderful hidden lessons about being ready for whatever comes at you’.
